Spring Tying/Re-Web
This application is very labor intensive. Depending upon the piece of furniture, the existing spring tie set-up will vary; an example would be to note if the seat has a standard crowned tapered edge, or a spring edge. Each involves a different method of tying, and additional labor for the latter. .

Close inspection of the condition of the wood is necessary in older pieces. Where repeated upholstering may have deteriorated the wood to a state we call "wormwood," it requires additional work with epoxy wood fillers to allow tacks and/or staples to embed firmly for upholstering.

Prices for full spring tying will vary, depending on each piece; however, for budgeting purposes, for a full chair or average couch, you should anticipate budgeting $150 to $375 +/-, for new spring tying, which will also cover labor and materials for new webbing. Remember, close inspection is the key to determining cost.
